Facts

Some of the tallest and oldest trees in the world are in Australia. A stand of male Huon Pines at Mount Read on the island of Tasmania are estimated to be more than 10,000 years old. Trees found in the Styx Valley and Mountain Ashes in Victoria are 300 ft tall and are still growing.

To give some perspective on this, Detroit's tallest building, the renaissance center, is 103 feet tall.

These are some of the ancient and terrifying facts I've learned while researching trivia questions for an Australian board game.
